First Vision Zero Summit held in Helsinki on 14-16 November 2019

The Vision Zero Summit, which was organized by the Finnish Institute for Occupational Health (FIOH) as one of the side events of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, discussed different aspects of Vision Zero, took the Vision Zero thinking and actions to the next level, and shared best practices and lessons learned. Participants from more than 35 countries and international organizations, such as the ILO, WHO, ISSA, ICOH and EU-OSHA agreed that Vision Zero represents a strategy and a holistic mindset aiming for a continuous improvement of safety, health, and wellbeing at work, and not just a numerical goal. One theme of the Summit was “Rethinking Vision Zero”, which is a reminder that there are many perspectives to Vision Zero.
The Global Vision Zero Business Council provided valuable contributions to the Summit programme and discussions.
